About Suzanne

I am The Word Whisperer, Suzanne. Thank you for checking out this profile. I wish to help you to learn and be as excited about reading as I am and have been my entire life. Reading can build knowledge, take you on journeys, introduce you to history, help you to discover yourself and understand others. Practically, of course, reading helps us to navigate the world around us! I hold a Masters Degree in Human Development from a private university in western New York, have co-authored a book of experiences of military veterans, and am delighting in the addition of my latest pen pal, my 7-year-old grandson! (A avid reader like his mother and me - Nana.) Literature has taken me to places in the past (I’m a Medieval History Major), it has lead me to countries I am curious about , helped me understand others, and find my purpose. I can’t imagine my life without this skill, and I hope to help you learn, not only how to read, but help you to explore what interests you. My time working as a program manager in a 4 year private university office of admissions greatly expanded my ability to understand what colleges and universities are seeking from potential higher education students, and how to write essays that, when read, express who you are and how you see yourself in the future. So, if you are reading this, great work! If someone is helping you through, that’s wonderful! I look forward to sharing what an adventure reading can be! One last thing: when I was in 4th grade a teacher decided I wasn’t reading well and not retaining what I did read, and I was placed in a reading program designed to help. Less than 6 months later, as a 5th grade student I was asked to tutor a 3rd grade student attending my school. I did and I loved every minute. I learned as much from him as he did from me! Little did I know then that reading, writing, and helping others to reach for their next adventure would become as important, and as fun, to others as it is to me. I hope we meet soon to start on this journey.
