About Justine
Hello, I’m Justine! Nice to meet you.
English was always my favourite subject at school, and I was an avid reader (and writer!) from an early age.
I was always begging my parents to take me to the library, and forcing anyone who would listen to read my little "books", the pages stuck haphazardly together with sellotape.
I studied English through to A-Level, which is where I discovered that I had a knack for the written exams. A few A*s later, I went on to achieve a First Class degree in International Business and Marketing and a distinction in my diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, where advanced writing, critical thinking, and clear communication were essential skills.
It was at university - back in 2019 - that I discovered tutoring. Friends noticed me finishing my essays quickly and started asking for help. It turns out, structuring your essays in a certain way makes the marker's job easier... making it easier for you to get the marks.
Soon enough, I was tutoring through the Government MyTutor Schools Programme (ages KS3 all the way to A-Level), which I did for the 3 years of on-and-off Covid restrictions.
After university, continuing to tutor on a casual basis, I spent five years working in corporate London. This experience strengthened my professionalism, organisation, and ability to deliver results - all of which I now bring into my tutoring. I’ve since transitioned to working for myself, working with my marketing clients in the mornings, before putting my English hat on in the afternoons (or weekends), where my students and I get stuck into mastering the art of English language exam/essay technique.
My biggest aim is to help students feel comfortable putting their ideas on paper and building their skills without pressure: my sessions are ALWAYS a judgement-free zone!

In my sessions, the focus is on getting students to a point where writing fluently gets them into a flow state, so they can easily get top grades on university essays, or walk into their GCSE exam feeling calm and confident - and walk out with a top grade.
My 1-on-1 teaching approach is results-driven, supportive and non-judgemental. I focus on both building confidence and technical ability, so students not only improve their grades but also feel self-assured walking into the exam hall (or handing in their dissertation).
I use a combination of:
1) Clear step-by-step methods to simplify complex exam questions
2) Model answers and live writing to demonstrate exactly what top-grade responses look like
3) Active practice and targeted feedback so students understand how to improve, not just what to change
4) Exam technique training (timing, structure, question breakdown) to maximise marks under pressure
Please note:
- Lessons are tailored to each student’s starting point and goals. As we work, I identify gaps in knowledge or technique and create a focused plan to improve results naturally.
- A typical lesson lasts 1hr, though longer sessions can be arranged. Each lesson is highly focused, and I offer complimentary *optional* follow-up "homework" and feedback between sessions to accelerate progress.
I have over 700 hours of tutoring experience, specialising in English Language and University essay help, helping students improve by 3 or more grade levels. I’ve worked with a wide range of abilities, including students aiming for top grades (7–9) and those needing support to pass with confidence.
My lessons are ideal for:
