About Liz

I am a software engineering graduate. My first career was training youth in web design and development using HTML,CSS, JAVASCRIPT, php, mysql and python using Django platform. I was a trainer for 2 years of a class of 80 students. I later took on a consultancy role to design and develop a hospital management system at a major hospital in Uganda. I started designing and developing hospital management systems for small-medium hospitals under my company . I am currently in the UK to pursue a masters in cyber security. I am originally from Uganda.

About the lesson

I am mainly passionate about TRAINING GIRLS who are interested in computer science but are a bit timid or feel they are not smart enough or good enough to be in the technology world. I will show them that they can actually learn the skill and take on a career in computing if they desire. I will show they how fun it actually can be.
I first enlighten them on all the possible areas and careers they can take on and this widens their knowledge and options to chose from.
Computer science is a very wide area and has a vast range of opportunities.
The lessons I give are for youth who do not have any experience but what to gain knowledge on how to design and develop web sites and web applications. My teaching method is practical based. First, I teach the syntax and semantics of a language and work on a practical project basing on that language. For example I may teach designing a website from scratch using HTML,CSS ,Javascript, PHP and MYsql before we can on on to use frameworks like wordPress.
I guide my students step by step.

Perfect! Liz was very friendly and good at putting me at ease. The first session was wanting to know why I want to learn Python, what I do for work and my interest.
I wanted start with Liz because of her profile.
I never feel like applying myself after a hard day at the office without some sort of commitment, no matter of the intention. Im looking forward to my first proper Python lesson
