About Ben
I am Ben. I have recently graduated from the University of York with a First-Class Law degree. I am currently studying a Master of Laws and am soon to be training as a Pupil Barrister after my course concludes.
What drives me to teach is the ability to support others to thrive and reach their academic potential. I enjoy supporting my students and have seen just how impactful my targeted sessions have been in terms of subject confidence and grade improvement.
I’ve tutored for a social enterprise for over 3 years, supporting low-income students who, without the charity’s funding, would otherwise be unable to afford tuition. I’m incredibly passionate about making a difference to the pupils I take on, ensuring they enjoy the subject and maximise their potential.

I have taken on students of all ages and of all target grades, boosting GCSE English Language and Literature marks by at least three grades with each long-term student I have taught. I am experienced in providing targeted and personalised support to students. I already have pre-made lesson plans already made and ready to go, but I adapt these to every student to address their weaker areas and to provide suitably challenging sessions. I always communicate with the student and parents/guardians (even with subject teachers) to ensure the pupil maximises the time we spend together.
