About Cindy

Hello, I’m Cindy, and I’m a coach, mentor, tutor, and a passionate advocate and cheerleader for you as a student and individual looking to learn, expand and grow. My passion and expertise is in language learning and meaning making: I have a Master’s in English Literature from the University of Glasgow, and also graduate courses in counseling.

I’m also an entrepreneur and founder of an animal rescue, so I have a soft spot for both human and furry connections, and how much we can learn from each other. I love working with people to dig a little deeper and discover new aspects of ourselves or a subject, and get to those aha! moments.

I’ve lived and studied abroad, experiencing those rich connections, and would love to exchange ideas and cultures. So excited to meet you and start our journey together.

About the lesson

There is not a “typical lesson” in the sense that it’s always the same rigid formula. There will be enough structure and guidance based on where you are in your language learning, and your learning experience and style. Here’s a sample of how we might approach our lessons:
Get to know each other: through conversation, questions, and listening, we can establish where you are, what you’re looking for, and how you see yourself moving forward. And also just make a connection. I would love to get to know you!

From that, I’ll put together a plan for how we’ll focus, and we can have themed lessons and questions and/or activities for you to explore before each new lesson. You always have a say in the direction we’re going, but my role is to provide that guidance, support and direction to get you closer to reaching your goals.

We’ll use concrete examples from real life, and materials from multiple sources so that it’s relevant to you and how you’ll need to use language in your daily life.

I can tailor lessons to any level, and have worked with adults and children in all grade levels.
