About Raymond

I’m a software engineer with over 20 years of coding experience — but my journey actually started as a graphic designer. That design background taught me to think creatively and pay close attention to detail, skills that still shape how I build products today. I began my engineering career in marketing agencies, creating everything from websites and web apps to iOS applications. But my real journey took off when the pandemic hit — I took a leap of faith and joined a startup in NYC. That bet paid off: we were successfully acquired by a major social media company. After a few years there, I joined another NYC-based startup, continuing to learn and grow in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. I’m also a former adjunct instructor at LCCC, where I taught mobile software engineering and 2D animation. Teaching gave me a deep appreciation for helping others understand complex concepts and build confidence in their skills. Along the way, I’ve gathered insights into what it really takes to succeed as a software engineer: how to pass tough technical interviews, write code that scales and impresses, and thrive in different types of teams and company cultures.
