About Dana

I am an aspiring actress and teacher. I mesh with many known celebrities within workshops in Los Angeles. I was originally born in Ontario, Canada.

My true art and passion is teaching. At 21 years old, in 2014, I moved to Beijing, China for the sole purpose to learn and to become an effective and memorable ESL teacher for all ages. I was a teacher for ‘First Leap’, an after-school English program. Within my first year, I was promoted to an International Trainer within the First Leap Franchise to train new ESL teachers coming abroad from America, Canada, and Europe.
Classes such as child psychology, interacting with younger children, effective methods for reward systems within a classroom, ect. In two years I was evaluated every 3 months on my performance, and evaluated once a month from parents that attended one open class. This class they witnessed their kids growth and had evaluated me based on my effectiveness. All reports came back to me, and all were ideal with excellence.
Overall, I truly enjoy teaching. I love people, I love helping new minds grow and adapt. I love education. I was so pleased with my company in China, that I searched for second jobs because of how much happiness and joy it brought me to further kids, teenagers, and men and woman of business to pursue or continue learning a language.
I was inspired by my students. And I truly treat each student as my own unique individual.

Note : The range of ages I was privileged to teach were
1. First leap —3 years old - 10 years old
2. Private tutoring — 15 years -18 years to help prep for prestigious schools eg. (Harvard and Yale in America)
3. Private tutoring for Business Men and Woman
Focusing on advanced or heightened vocabulary to enhance their English-speaking Meetings within their companies.

About the lesson

Teaching is rooted from passion. I am interactive, visual and personal with all students. I understand students learn differently. In this case I offer many of these teaching styles to accommodate my student’s level of learning capabilities. My ESL experience in Beijing allowed me to teach a range of ages with an open mind of each gift that an individual student possesses. I truly loved my students. It was important in my heart and passion to inspire and raise their confidence with the English language. My goal is to have my students feel moved, taken seriously, to feel safe, and ultimately to feel accomplished.
