After completing five years of study within the Bachelor’s Degree in Music- Voice Performance program at Carleton University, Ottawa, where she specialized in jazz, soul, and classical voice, showcasing her extensive training in vocal technique.

Crystalena also holds a distinguished professional certificate for Registered Vocal Teachers, from the Berklee Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. This certification is a testament to her specialized training in vocal health and technique, particularly tailored for contemporary, jazz, and music theatre studies, with a notable emphasis on speech pathology.

Crystalena's commitment to a holistic and comprehensive approach to vocal instruction shines through in her dedication to acquiring this additional credential.

Gaining invaluable insights from professional mentoring and vocal masterclasses conducted by renowned vocalists, notably STOUT (Denise Renee), a backup vocalist for Alicia Keys and Donald Glover, has been a transformative experience. Additionally, drawing inspiration from the professional teachings of mentors such as Tara Shannon, Kelly Lee Evans, Eric Arcenaux, India Carney, Roxanne Goodman, and Lynn Miles, these interactions have significantly shaped and elevated her approach.

Over an impressive eight-year teaching career, she has not only provided guidance to students of all ages but has also extended her influence to professionals within the industry, showcasing the depth of her mentorship and the breadth of her impact.
