About Junah
I am a 23 year old chef who has accomplished many things in the F&B industry. Graduating top of my class from one of the greatest business & art schools in America, has led me the opportunity to work for amazing companies such as Disney, Omni Hotels & Resorts, Biltmore Co, Marriott, Hilton, Dole Fruit, and plenty more. In my free time I teach at Johnson & Wakes as an assistant for the culinary, and baking & pastry students to help the students whether it’s math, recipes, mixology, sommelier, hosting, serving, technology in the industry, and even law. I am certified in food safety and currently in the process of becoming certified as a certified food safety professional through the National Environmental Health Association. I’ve traveled a lot, I’ve seen a lot, and I am currently active in theF&B industry today because it’s always changing. I understand that it can be scary, and the food & hospitality umbrella is vast. So whether you want to have a restaurant, bakery, run a casino, hospital whatever, I’ve studied business law and Human Resources in the food & beverage departments to help you prepare for whichever path you decide to take. I’m 23 with 3 food-related businesses, and although I’m young, I understand that knowledge is the basis of all your dreams. I love what I do, I’m passionate about helping others. No matter If you want to simply cook better at home, or you want to to be the next best thing. I’m here to answer all your questions and go through the journey with you until you feel comfortable to take on any task at hand.

Culinary Fundamentals will be the basics. In this portion you’ll learn about basic cooking techniques, knife care & knife cuts, and food safety. In addition to, global cuisine, fabrication of proteins and understanding how to get the most use out of your product. Food is a science, so this lesson will help you learn why we put certain ingredients in our food and the cause & affect. To understand anything under the food and beverage hospitality, you must have knowledge about the products you’ll come into contact with on a day-to-day basis. Product identification is a curriculum designed to help familiarize yourself with foods ie. parsley vs cilantro. However product identification is more in depth down to the look and taste of foods, fat content in different milks for example. You’ll also learn nutrition; macro and micro. Vitamins and minerals, and a consiste lesson on human anatomy and why it’s important to understand our organ functions and how food plays a role. Food costs and culinary/baking financials is my favorite. Learning how to price out recipes, ingredients, payroll, how to staff your business according to labor etc. All are very important to know whether you want to own your own business, or expand in your current field. You’ll learn all things hospitality, from fine dining etiquette, proper service and round out your studies with the understanding of wine- the regions they come from, types, the science behind making wine, food pairing and cooking. You’ll learn about beer, liquor, liquors and understand How to serve alcohol responsibly and legally.
