About Kate

I have been privately and publicly teaching students of all ages since 1999, lessons in piano, guitar, voice, clarinet, flute, sax, violin and viola. Many of my students have won prizes, or been chosen to select auditioned groups, and some are even now music teachers themselves. I have recently been an adjunct professor in clarinet at Cedar Crest College. I have also been performing as a singer-songwriter my whole life, and hope to record an album soon.

About the lesson

Music is the language of the soul, a connective tissue that binds all human experience. Studying music has proven to improve the mind, and while sometimes challenging, is also supremely fun, illuminating and invigorating and even therapeutic. As Beethoven put it, "music is the language in which the soul thinks, breathes and invents." You will receive all these benefits in our lessons as well as an individual approach to the lessons which meets all your specific needs.
