About Dewayne
My writing journey began at Mt. San Antonio College where I received my associate degree to transfer in English to University of California, Riverside. I began my Creative Writing journey under the small tutelage of Susan Straight, a distinguished professor, to aid my own writing. My writing depicted my own life within the Foster Care System and the unique experiences I experienced. I decided to couple Creative Writing with my English Literature degree since I had a love for the classics. This included names like Shakespeare and Edgar Allan Poe, however, I also love Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, and Audre Lorde. The influence of these individuals has helped to evolve not only my writing, but my perspective of Literature as a whole. I hope you will want my aid with the journey you're currently undertaking.
