About Umar

Currently working as a consultant at one of the Big Four. Graduated from Imperial College after successfully completing my MSc Finance. Previously secured a Bachelor’s in Economics and Finance from Queen Mary University of London. I specialise in Economics/Finance/Business subjects and can help with both general subject knowledge and even assignments. Over the years, I have helped many students with applications to both the top business schools in the world as well as in their applications to the most competitive roles on the job market.

About the lesson

I like to tailor my approach based on the confidence and understanding of the student. Working our way through the syllabus is extremely important and this allows us to target the weaker areas within a student's understanding. After this, a clear focus on exam preparation as well as technique, is crucial and will prepare students for the pressure of exams.

Perfect! My lessons with Nick have been going incredibly well. I am a year 13 student that was looking for a tutor to help my exam techniques and structure for my Economics A-Level. From our first lesson Nick has improved this and made me a lot more confident when completing past papers/ year 13 mocks. Every lesson I send Nick pieces of work that I’ve completed, which he marks and then provides thorough feedback during our lessons. He very clearly and concisely makes it clear what in my essays gained me marks as well as where I lost marks and what I could improve for my answer to be in the top band category. I strongly recommend!

Umar helped me through my Corporate Finance module. I approached him only a couple of weeks before my exam, but he was able to do a couple of focused sessions with me which allowed me to be much better prepared for my final exam.
