About Mekhmet Akif
Hey, I am Akif, a sophomore at UVA. I am double-majoring in Chemistry and a Self-Designed Neuromorphic Computing major. I love coffee, cats, and any subject you can think of. I believe that in today's day and age, what's missing is not resources but the motivation and method of acquiring knowledge. So that is what I try to spread. I teach you how to learn, not just the subject.

I believe intelligence can be learned. Any subject can be taught to any student by teaching them the right fundamentals, and their brain can be trained with the right scaffolding. That is my method of teaching. I will break down the class you are taking into its fundamentals, make sure you have the right building blocks, teach you how to find the blocks yourself, and the philosophy of the subject. This way, the topics become intuitive, and you turn into the type of student who reasons out what the teacher is going to say before they do. Even more important than all of this, I will teach you to love what you are studying.
Credentials:
Chemistry Major UVA 2028. I am following the Advanced Chemistry 1800's path in UVA—previously Top 15 in the US Chemistry Olympiad in New Jersey. 5 in AP Chemistry. Mentoring high schoolers for +2 years.
