The main issues in English exams tend to be either in grammar, vocabulary or essay-writing. I believe in having interactive sessions where I can focus on technique and application, rather than rote-learning and simply memorising meaningless information. Depending on the curriculum to be followed, I can adapt my teaching style to ensure the student grasps the way to write essays, use the right syntax and structure to please any examiner, as well as learn for the future. Over a 2 hour lesson, for example, we might spend the first half discussing the mistakes made in the past and finding solutions, and the next hour applying newly learnt concepts to tougher questions. Exam-style questioning is important to gear the student, and I will be there to guide the student through.
