About Shahar

Hey, I’m Shahar Shamay - a filmmaker, director, and editor with over a decade of hands-on experience in the film industry. I hold a B.Ed.F.A in Film and Education from Beit Berl College, and a diploma from the Toronto Film School. I’ve worked across fiction, documentary, and commercial projects, from creative concept to final cut. My films have won awards and screened at many international festivals, and so can yours! Whether you’re just starting out or deep into development, I’m here to guide you with professional insight, real & practical guidance and personalized, constructive feedback - all so you can bring your vision to life.

About the lesson

My approach is project-first: whether you're writing, directing, or editing, together, we will focus on making your specific film or idea the best it can be. Each session is tailored to your goals - breaking down your scenes, structure, tone, and creative vision. With over 10 years of experience and award-winning work, I give honest, practical feedback that pushes your project forward. This isn’t a class-it’s a mentorship. If you’re a recently high school graduate and above, beginner to pro - if you have a film you’re working on (or want to start), I’m here to help you shape it into something powerful, personal, and production-ready.
