We learn reading for drums, drum technique and we tackle different grooves and genres. Even We work to develop the creativity of the students to use, reinvent and create fills.
Scott's teaching methods draw from many world drumming traditions. Learning how to speak rhythms and internalize them is an eastern approach from the Arabian and Indian percussive traditions. Western traditions of drumming notation are included for modern/ contemporary music performance.
My teaching method is based in proper hand and stick technique. Technique means freedom. Also we will be learning traditional West African and Latin rhythms , and their function, covering tuning , timing and soloing. We will also be focusing on modern applications and rhythmic approach.

My methodology for drum tutoring varies with age and skill level. My drum lessons would be suitable for those who are wanting to start playing the drums, all the way up to experienced drummers wanting to improve their skills or adapt to more sounds.
My teaching method is that of beginning from the basics, Rudiments, Time Signatures and Rhythms. All three of these are what help to make you a better drummer, and allow you freedom whilst you play. I am an ambassador for learning genres of all kinds, as it is important for a drummer to be diverse in what she/he plays.
I enjoy teaching enthusiastic students and take pride in helping them develop their skills and passion. Each student has their own goals and interests and I believe in helping them achieve that dream. I believe if you aren't having a good time you won't be prepared to learn.

It's all about good communication and teaching precisely what each student needs to improve. I identify those needs and focus on them, as well as ensuring areas the student wants to concentrate on are also covered. Helping with other subjects, such as tuning and lit care are also covered.
I rely on body memory and practice. As a coach in the sessions that you will have with me I would bring you to free you from all the blockage that your body makes to your voice. Relaxation is therefore an integral part of the process.
I consider myself a musician rather than just a drummer, offering a very positive and musical approach to the instrument. When teaching, I aim to pass on my knowledge and love for drumming and music, nurturing the musical side of the student.
Fun, focussed, clear, engaging, creative. My students need to have access to their instrument to practice. I like using my material when studying at Drummers Collective in New York but am open to suggestions. I am particularly strong on Latin Jazz, Afro Cuban Rhythms, West African Rhythms and exploring polyrhythms on drum kit, percussion and even a combination of the two i.e.

Over the years of experience I've had, I felt hearing and feeling a piece of music really allows any musicians to learn without realising. Collecting musical ideas from various genres around the world is our source of information although everybody needs a guide. My primerial focus will always be on music and feel, technique and performance.
Custom/Tailor made Concept sharing and reviewing. Classes will be for an hour minimum.
My basic methodology is to teach music through performance. There will always be scales and exercises to work on, but making good use of etudes and musical excerpts makes it more fun. There are numerous method books for the various percussion instruments that are laid out very well and keep it interesting.
My method is based on my experience with teaching and observation that I received in Africa. Then I have adapted this teaching to any audience, that is a person who does not know anything about music or musicians who already have experience. The technique is studied to get a good sound and gain speed and power, it is: _ posture, movements and positions of the hands and fingers.
