Find your French tutor in Ultimo

Learning French on your own is entirely possible with the right approach.

• Grammar foundations: start with present-tense conjugations, noun genders and basic sentence structure.
• Vocabulary building: learn the 500 most common French words first — they cover the majority of everyday conversations.
• Audio input: regular exposure to spoken French sharpens your pronunciation and builds natural comprehension.
• Speaking aloud: practise pronunciation daily — repeat phrases, record yourself and work on correcting your accent.

Pairing self-study with regular lessons from a qualified tutor is the fastest route to real fluency.

A private French lesson in Ultimo costs approximately $33/h.

Pricing can vary based on:

• Your current level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
• The instructor's credentials and track record
• The duration and frequency of lessons
• The teaching mode (in-person or video call)

Comparing several profiles helps you find the best value.

The 80/20 rule, also known as the Pareto principle, says that 80% of your results come from just 20% of your effort.

• High-frequency vocabulary: the 1,000 most common French words account for roughly 85% of everyday speech — learn those first.
• Key tenses: present, passé composé and simple future cover the vast majority of French conversations — master those before anything else.
• High-use phrases: memorising frequent expressions boosts your confidence and immediately makes you sound more natural.
• Smart revision: spend the bulk of your study time on the words and rules you keep forgetting, not the ones you already know.

Getting guidance from a qualified tutor means your effort is always directed at the highest-value content.
