Find your French tutor in Yarrawonga

Teaching yourself French starts with a structured plan and consistent daily practice.

• Grammar foundations: start with present-tense conjugations, noun genders and basic sentence structure.
• High-frequency words: prioritise the most-used vocabulary and common phrases before tackling complex or rare terms.
• Listening practice: expose yourself to native French through podcasts, films and YouTube to train your ear.
• Speaking aloud: practise pronunciation daily — repeat phrases, record yourself and work on correcting your accent.

Working with an experienced French teacher saves you from developing bad habits that are hard to fix later.

In Yarrawonga, expect to pay about $40/h for a French lesson.

The cost depends on:

• The level of study (primary, secondary, university)
• The tutor's experience and qualifications
• The duration and frequency of lessons
• The teaching mode (in-person or video call)

Online lessons are often more affordable while remaining effective.

Applied to French, the 80/20 rule means focusing on the vocabulary and grammar patterns that appear most often in real conversations.

• High-frequency vocabulary: the 1,000 most common French words account for roughly 85% of everyday speech — learn those first.
• Priority grammar: focus on present, past (passé composé) and future tenses before tackling subjunctive or conditional forms.
• Common phrases: set expressions and collocations let you speak naturally without constructing every sentence from scratch.
• Smart revision: spend the bulk of your study time on the words and rules you keep forgetting, not the ones you already know.

Working with an experienced teacher ensures your study time goes to what matters most, not what feels easiest.
