Book guitar lessons with expert teachers

The first lessons for a beginner cover the physical setup and fundamental skills.

• Guitar components: Know the saddle and other key components to communicate clearly.
• Note names: Standard tuning assigns particular pitches to each open string: E-A-D-G-B-E.
• Fretting technique: Keep your thumb behind the fretboard while fingers curve naturally.
• Strumming basics: Develop consistent rhythm by keeping the arm still rather than the whole arm.

Master these essentials first to avoid bad habits that slow progress later.
