Book guitar lessons with expert teachers

Guitar beginners should start with four fundamental elements that create a solid foundation.

• Parts of the instrument: Know the nut and other key components to describe problems.
• Open string names: Standard tuning assigns particular pitches to all six strings: E-A-D-G-B-E.
• Finger placement: Keep thumb placement on the back of the neck while fingers stay perpendicular.
• Right-hand rhythm: Practice simple down-strums before adding alternating patterns.

With solid fundamentals in place, beginners can build confidence.
