Violet tutored me for two hours a week for a term and helped me enormously in achieving a predicted A*. She also helped me with my personal statement, making it more engaging and giving it more flair.
I found it difficult to find useful sources and quotes from the prescribed books, so I would tell Violet my case studies before our lessons and she would find three short, relevant sentences that I could use as quotes, rather than having to reference an entire book. This saved me so much time and made the subject feel much more manageable.
Violet also took the time to create timelines for all of my case studies across the different periods and themes. We did lots of active recall until I knew the date, source and medium of each artwork, which made remembering the content much easier.
Violet has also helped me make the subject feel much more engaging. She encourages me to choose my own contextual points that I know I will remember in the exam, rather than simply memorising information.
Her PowerPoints are really well made, and I particularly love the work we do on the whiteboard during lessons. Thank you, Violet!
