About Ankita

I Have just completed a Liberal Arts degree at Durham University – Majoring in Theology, Spanish and Business. This course has allowed me to continue exploring the cross-curricular nature of the Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences. I am extremely passionate about Theology/Philosophy and Spanish and throughout my school years I would immerse myself in wider reading, podcasts, talks from external speakers, leading the Philosophy society and presenting to my peers. I remember the daunting process of taking those all important public exams from GCSE to A level and going through the whole university application process and having that experience has made me want to help all those currently in that position. I want to be able to fill students with confidence so that they can really be the best that they can be as being successful in exams comes down to having self-belief. When I began to have confidence in my abilities I instantly felt able to tackle the challenges that my subjects presented. It is also important to remember that it is also what you do outside the classroom as this gives you an all rounded personality.

I am just about to embark onto my journey in the working world on a graduate scheme, and as I do so I would like to continue supporting students in their academic journeys as far as possible.

I have been tutoring for two years, gaining successful results for over 15 pupils in their GCSES and A levels! I Hope I can help you to do the same !

About the lesson

I believe that the main part of teaching anyone is realising that everyone learns in a different way and that the long term goal is to ensure that you give them the correct tools to be able to think for themselves. During the meet the tutor session I would like to get to know about you and what ways of learning you find have helped you, or if you haven’t found one yet. Before each tutorial we would identify exactly what we would like to achieve and keep this as the learning objective as then we would be able to see progression towards our goal. I think that using different resources and activities is really important so I would use presentations from prezi, or quizlet flashcards, podcasts or apps such as kahoot to help and make the session enjoyable and memorable. I remember when I was revising for exams I would use different techniques such as condensing a paragraph of notes down into a sentence, or creating mind maps and anacronyms ,doing essay plans in 60 seconds, colour co-ordinating notes. I would love to share these techniques with you and help you to find out what works best so that you can achieve all your goals
