About Benjamin
As a current student of literature, I am well-attuned to the kinds of problems and struggles that students face when reading and writing. As a teacher, I meet each student where they are at in order to strengthen reading and writing skills. It is my goal that together we will develop a method by which you will be able to approach literature and writing in a way that enlivens the text for you.

Just as with any other art, reading and writing should be pleasurable. Whether it’s reading literature, writing about literature, or writing your own poetry or prose, I want to help you find the joy your studies.
LITERATURE/POETRY:
In each lesson we will focus on the ways in which you are naturally drawn to a text. Then, we will locate technique and style that the writer is employing in order to get a greater sense of how and why the text is effective. My goal is that you will be able to approach and explore a work of literature with greater clarity and ease so that you can get the most enjoyment out of reading and writing.
CREATIVE WRITING:
Creative writing can be a daunting task. Oftentimes, students feel an urge to write creatively but do not know where to begin or how to refine the writing that they already have. Each lesson for creative writing students will be catered individually depending on where they are in the process. We will work on creative prompts, form, editing, and revising.
