About Gigi

Hi! I’m Gigi Martin, a passionate language tutor with over five years of experience teaching both English and Spanish to students aged 10 to 65+. Having lived in Spain for over six years, I achieved native fluency and gained a deep appreciation for cultures and languages. I understand the challenges of language learning firsthand, and I make lessons enjoyable, relatable, and tailored to each student’s goals—whether they are social, academic, or professional.

In my lessons, you’ll find a welcoming, interactive environment where questions are encouraged and complex concepts are broken down in approachable ways. My teaching style adapts to each student’s unique strengths, ensuring that every lesson is engaging, practical, and relevant.

With patience, positivity, and a warm approach, I’m here to help you build confidence, connect with the material, and reach your language goals—whatever they may be!

About the lesson

Personalized Learning: I tailor lessons based on each student’s background, learning style, and language goals. I prioritize speaking throughout the lesson to solidify language confidence, pairing it with grammar, cultural knowledge, pronunciation, reading, and writing.

What sets me apart as a tutor is that I was enrolled in bilingual education in my native California (USA), from Kindergarten through high school. I graduated as one of six students out of over a hundred, who earned their California Seal of Biliteracy, equivalent to an associate's degree in Spanish during high school. After graduation, I moved to Spain, where I took my Spanish from good to native fluency. I fully immersed myself in the Spanish language and culture, finding my partner, a true Madrileño. I was able to fully embrace the beauty and opportunities languages can offer. What felt like a chore during my younger years, has become the greatest gift of my life. In my 6 years abroad, I earned my undergraduate degree in Cultural Studies, a bilingual bachelor's program at Universidad Carlos III Madrid, and a master´s degree in International Development at one of Europe´s leading universities, IE University.

Es una chica muy inteligente lo cual en las clases de conversación podemos tratar muchos temas diferentes y así aprender nuevo vocabulario.
