About Erica
Experience in tutoring children ages 3 to 13 in a range of elementary school subjects - logic problems are my favorites. Lessons will focus on fun - because making math boring or hard will make your child dislike math. I disliked math as a student but loved it once I saw its real world applications in personal and professional settings - making a budget? estimating project costs? getting a $5 bill back instead of a handful of change? Making math relevant makes math fun.

Math exercises in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and logic/word problems that are focused on fun and how math is used in daily life. I have lots of fun exercises and games to help your child improve their math and logic skills as a foundation for kindergarten through grade 8 so that the more complicated and complex math taught in secondary school won't be harder due to lack of basic comprehension and facility. I'll teach tips and tricks to remember how to use math in real life - something is 40% off? how do you make change from a $20 for a chocolate bar? your test was 19 out of 20, what is the percentage?

Details
Preparing lessons and tools (games, exercises, etc.) takes time outside of the lesson itself. I also prepare detailed lesson plans for your records/tracking, and send additional resources by email. This extra time is reflected in my hourly rate. Committing to your improvement by scheduling five or ten 60-minute sessions at once will save you money. Only cash and e-transfer will be accepted. No discounts for your travel to my home.
