About Sara
Hi! I'm Sara—your friendly neighborhood philosophy nerd and PhD student at McGill. I hold a Master’s degree in Philosophy and have spent years helping students untangle the mysteries of Plato, Freud, and everything in between. Whether you’re lost in a sea of abstract ideas or just need help making your essay sound less like a panic attack, I’ve got you. My style is warm, clear, and just the right amount of nerdy (think Socrates meets Google Docs). I’m professional, punctual, and genuinely invested in your learning. If you want to boost your confidence in philosophy (and maybe even have a little fun along the way), I’m here for it.

As a tutor, I focus on building understanding through conversation, real-life examples, and personalized support. Whether I’m teaching philosophy or psychology, I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, breaking down complex ideas into simple, relatable steps.
A typical session begins by reviewing the student’s goals and recent material, identifying points of confusion, and working together through key concepts. I prioritize active engagement, i.e., asking questions, encouraging critical thinking, and guiding students in forming their own insights.
What sets me apart is my background: I hold a double major in psychology and philosophy, followed by an MA in Philosophy, and currently beginning my PhD at McGill in Islamic Studies. I have hands-on experience with editing academic texts. I also bring warmth, patience, and a clear communication style to every session.
My lessons are ideal for high school, undergraduate, or early graduate students seeking help with coursework, writing, or foundational understanding in philosophy or related fields.
