My main teaching approach with maths Is exam practice as practice makes it perfect. To start off with in the first lesson the student and I would go through topics they're comfortable with and that they're struggling with. A personal tracker would be made for you to monitor your learning and understanding. After a specific topic is completed the student will be given a test in which they would need 75% to pass. Once the topic is passed they would receive regular homework on them topics to help keep their understanding fresh. If for example, they didn't achieve the mark on the test then we would go through the exam questions together and help identify the strengths and weakness. During the lesson powerpoint and an iPad with a whiteboard app will be used to help the student understand the topic.
