About Shane
Reading and writing were passions of mine before I became fluent in them! The commonly held myth that writers are born and not created is completely false; anyone can become a better writer/reader. All it takes is dedication of time, practice, and often, a good mentor. With my mix of rigor and lightness-of-touch approach, I can help you achieve your goals whether it be understanding a Shakespeare play, writing a research paper, or putting together applications for college!

I have a dialogue-driven teaching approach that focuses on coherence and fluidity within an essay. My goal is to create absolute eloquence and heighten student sensitivity to the nuances of language. In a typical day, we might do in-class writing exercises, review formatting for flow and clarity, have a lesson on a particular set of issues that you're struggling with. Each lesson is designed for the student and takes into account their different learning needs. These are lessons for middle school and high school students.
