About Isobel
Currently, I am on my gap year working so I can save money to travel down the East coast of Africa in 2026, and as I do, I hope to volunteer at local schools and teach English and set up fun activities and games for children. I was born in Hong Kong and lived there for around 9 years, and have been learning Mandarin throughout my life, however, frequently moving schools has limited my ability to speak fluently. Although I still understand and can communicate basic Mandarin, which can help in some lessons. For A-Levels, I did very different subjects: English, Business, and Biology - meaning I have knowledge in a broad range of subjects.

Mandarin
A typical lesson would include an online conversation where I can introduce new vocabulary of the student’s interest, and help with grammatical corrections. I can help with writing, speaking, listening and reading skills in English. I have a 120hr TEFL certificate, and I know some Mandarin, so I can better help and communicate with children who know Mandarin and are wanting to learn English.
