About Cyan
Hello everyone! My name is Cyan Jansen Van Rensburg. I am from South Africa but also half Czech. I am a native English speaker. I love the English language, especially in regard to conversation. I believe we can learn English pronunciation in both formal and informal settings. What sounds casual and what doesn't? What are some buzzwords that can elevate your tone and mood when having a conversation? Most of all, are you pronouncing that weird stringy word correctly? Well, if you have any doubts or just want to practice your English conversational skills I'm here to help. I have endless patience and will assist you in any way that I can!
I use my university experience in Psychology and Neuroscience to better teach how to handle high stress situations, professional situations like job interviews. I also offer willingness to practice job interviews with you, be your audience for a presentation, speech etc. I offer constructive criticism as well.
Alongside this, I offer helping you learn to proofread college level papers as well as help you in evolving your spelling both formally and informally.

My teaching method includes the beauty of simplicity. I fuse both conversational techniques and genuine advice on how to improve pronunciation when in different environments.
A typical lesson plan for me includes opening the lesson with a debriefing of our last lesson, what we learned but we wanted to learn. Then we would talk about our goals for the lesson. The we would move on into activities and make sure to finish on time.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my point of simplicity. Learning oratory skills/oral expression should not be a tedious and over exerting experience. It is meant to be fun and exciting and motivating you for other parts of your life !
These lessons are for people who want to have a light and simple experience that won't be overwhelming or overstimulating to the nervous system.
