About Ly-Ly
I am a sixth-semester student at Leiden University in the Netherlands. In 2016 I received the Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English with 190 points. Since then I have been teaching English in various settings. It started at my high school and continued in the Netherlands when I entered university. Now I have decided to tutor online as well. Throughout the last three years of tutoring, most of my students were high school students, however, I also helped adults improve their confidence in speaking and further prepared them for a job interview.

Depending on what the goal is, I will prepare my English lesson accordingly.
For elementary school, middle school and high school
I will approach what you learnt in school in a different way. We will take a closer look at the grammar, find each student's personal weaknesses, work on them and strengthen the student's self-confidence for their participation in the classroom.
For high school students preparing for their final exams
Since I passed my German high school diploma (Abitur) myself in English in 2017, I can help high school graduates with their preparation. I can also help with bilingually taught subjects (e.g. Geography in English/ German). Depending on the student's weaknesses, I will prepare a grammar lesson, work with the student on his written expression or help prepare presentations. I can also offer study preparation for those who want to study in English but haven't before (especially for students looking forward to studying Social Sciences and Humanities, since I am a Humanities student myself).
For students who are preparing for the CAE or other language certificates
I also guide their preparation; it will mainly consist of building vocabulary and learning structured approaches to specific tasks.
For adults
Whether you want more confidence in your daily language use or an important job interview is coming up - I will be happy to help you. Let me know your goals and I will adjust my lessons so you can reach them.
