About J
Q: Tell me about yourself
A: I am a recent Double First History Graduate and former organ scholar at Oxford University! I was awarded a Distinction (First Class) for Preliminary Examinations with a Commendation from the Examiner for the Specialist paper. At Finals, I achieved First Class marks for my papers in Anglo-Norman medieval history and English Architecture, 1660-1720. I specialise in tutoring History and History of Art. I was awarded an A* at A-Levels for both subjects and received all 9s for GCSE.
Q: What can you offer?
A: I was the only student in my cohort to study A-Level History and History of Art, gaining an insight into cross-functional synergies that can be applied to either field. I continue to do this, having gained a First Class mark for my Art theory/conceptual paper for my BA History Prelims at Oxford. In Final Honours School, I pursued a Further Subject paper into the burgeoning artscape of Italy and Flanders of the Quattrocento, and English Architecture after the Restoration of King Charles II. I can help you become a top candidate to smash your A-Level Art History paper! My main mode of teaching is ONLINE.*
Fun fact: I obtained x3 musical diplomas (ATCL Distinction and x2 Music Performance DipABRSMs) for Cello, Clarinet and French Horn, aged 10 and 14 respectively.

Q: What do YOUR lessons unlock?
A: For me, tutoring is the process of passing on valuable nuggets of academic know-how to younger generations of students. Tutoring, ultimately a bespoke session tailored just for YOU, will allow you to unlock new gateways to faster and more efficient knowledge acquisition and guide you towards how to work SMARTER, not necessarily HARDER.
Q: What's your lesson structure?
A: Prominent educators have found that there is no-one-solution-fits-all for learning and this is true. That's why the internet and YouTube is full of helpful guides, informing us on various (and very widely different) methods of knowledge retention and revision. My job is to help you find your optimal way of learning, then format that in a bespoke tailored setting to help you excel at anything you'd like to cover in the lesson.
Q: Can we have a chat about this before booking?
A: Of course! Book the free 30-minute consultation session and we'll identify what you'd like to improve on (is it a specific topic / area or is it a broader issue? etc.). From there, I can offer some suggestions on how we'd tackle this in a tutorial space and go from there! I offer tutoring in the following: History of Art from GCSE~ A-Level & University level.

I could not have asked for a better tutor than Jun to help me with the Oxford admissions process. His insights into interview technique and historical thinking were extremely valuable. He helped me refine my responses, provided tailored feedback, and honed my critical thinking into what was expected from an Oxford interview. Beyond his academic expertise, Jun is a kind and considerate individual who contributes a significant amount of time and effort into directing his students towards success. I would not have been able to secure an offer without Jun's aid; I could not recommend him highly enough as a tutor!
A diligent tutor - helped my daughter and son with 13+ & GCSE history preparations respectively. Lessons are worthwhile and top value. Has boosted academic confidence for both of my children.
I cannot recommend J highly enough. His lessons for my son was clearly structured and well organised. A brilliant tutor and my son loves History even more. A very bright and kind young man!
