About Alice
I am a fourth-year Honors Biopharmaceutical Science student at the University of Ottawa with a strong passion for science and learning. Throughout my studies in biology, chemistry, and genetics, I’ve developed a deep curiosity for understanding complex topics and a determination to work through challenging concepts until they truly make sense. I enjoy sharing that mindset with students and helping them realize that difficult subjects can become much more manageable with the right approach.
I strive to create a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I understand that some students may feel shy or hesitant to speak up, and I always try to be patient, encouraging, and approachable so everyone feels confident participating.
My experience working with students of all ages at the Summer Camps helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different learning styles. My goal is to make learning engaging, approachable, and even enjoyable while helping students build confidence in their abilities.

My approach to tutoring focuses on building a strong understanding of concepts rather than memorization. I break down complex ideas in biology, chemistry, and related sciences into simple, step-by-step explanations and encourage students to actively work through problems with me. A typical lesson involves reviewing key concepts, working through practice questions together, and identifying areas where the student may need extra support or a different explanation style.
As a fourth-year Honours Biopharmaceutical Science student at the University of Ottawa, I understand how challenging science courses can feel because I have worked through them myself. My experience working with students of all ages at Gee-Gees Summer Camps has also helped me develop patience and adaptability when teaching.
I tailor lessons to different learning styles and always aim to make learning engaging and enjoyable. I offer tutoring for middle school, high school, and early university students in subjects such as biology, chemistry, genetics, and introductory Python.
