About Yolande
My name is Yolande (pronounced Yoland). I am currently in my final semester of my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I am also a mother of three and a homeschooling mom with a strong interest in helping children learn, grow, and become more confident in their abilities.
Through homeschooling and helping my own children with their education, I have gained hands-on experience supporting children with reading, writing, homework, and other academic skills. I am patient, caring, and dependable, and I understand that every child learns differently and at their own pace.
My studies in psychology have strengthened my understanding of child development, learning, and the importance of encouragement and positive reinforcement. I especially enjoy working with younger children and helping them build confidence in areas where they may be struggling.

My goal is to create a patient, encouraging, and supportive learning environment where each child feels comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I provide homework help and academic support for preschool and elementary-aged students, including reading, writing, basic math, and study skills.
I understand that every child learns differently, so I adjust my approach based on the student’s individual needs and learning style. During lessons, we can review schoolwork, work through difficult concepts step by step, practice skills, and build confidence. I especially enjoy helping younger students develop strong foundational skills while making learning positive and enjoyable.
As a mother and psychology student, I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and recognizing each child’s strengths. My goal is not simply to help students finish their homework but to help them better understand what they are learning and become more confident and independent learners.
