About Ian
Music is something that is meant to be enjoyed. Every time I play music I approach it with a smile. I have had the pleasure of performing in professional ensembles all across the United States. I have conducted ensembles for middle school, high school, and college. I have even instructed a High School State Champion drumline. I hold myself to a high standard but enjoy every moment along the way. I've made plenty of mistakes, but it's all about how you develop going forward.

Music is a difficult language to learn. It takes time and patience. Mistakes will be made. I seek to educate my students to learn from their mistakes to improve upon their skills. I never ask students to play perfectly, just try to improve on one mistake each time. Above all, music is something that is meant to be enjoyed.
As an instructor, I have previously taught private lessons for percussion, piano, guitar, bass, flute, and trumpet. My primary instrument is percussion, snare drum, piano, and drumset being my specialty. I have taught large ensembles for beginning bands, high school percussion bands, and collegiate mixed ensembles. I have also instructed a state championship drumline.
Music is my passion and I enjoy teaching all ages and difficulties. I hope you will make music with me.
