About Sydney

Hi there! I am a graduate of Oklahoma City University’s BFA in Acting program with a minor in Directing, and I’m about to receive my MFA in Classical Theatre through the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy in Washington, DC. I’ve been teaching children’s theatre for over 7 years at various studios across the DFW and Virginia area, and I’m passionate about helping young artists grow in confidence, creativity, and technique. Currently based in DC, I’ll be making the move to New York City this fall. I’m a kind-hearted, musical theatre-loving, cat mom who can’t wait to meet and work with new students this year!

About the lesson

My goal is to create a safe learning space where students can explore their craft and learn to enjoy the art of theatre. I focus on teaching students around ages 8 and up and each lesson is tailored to the student's unique, individual needs. I teach pre-professional students acting and musical techniques to help them succeed in one of the toughest industries. I teach through fun and experience in order to give you opportunities to grow in audition skills, performance skills, and analyzing skills. I usually will start with an analysis of your current skill level, will give you weekly assignments to help you grow, materials for audition and scene work, and help you bloom into the actor you’re meant to be! What makes my technique different from others is that I am a young artist who was a child actor, went through college auditions, graduated from a prestigious arts school, and is currently working in the industry. I know what is currently going on in the industry and what will lead you to success! (I do have a late fee/missed lesson policy. If you miss your lesson or are over 15 minutes late, I have the right to still charge for the lesson due to time restrictions. Thank you for understanding.)
