About Liyah
I am a nontraditional student obtaining her Pharm.D. at Auburn University. Prior to that I was pursuing my undergraduate degree in biomedical science at Auburn as well. I have a solid background in biology‘s such as principles of biology, anatomy and physiology one and two, organismal biology, genetics and microbiology. I also have a background in chemistry. I am proficient in chemistry one and two, organic chemistry one and two, and biochemistry.

My goal in teaching is to establish a solid foundation so that each student is able to apply their knowledge as they move up in curriculum. A typical lesson plan includes about an hour or two of Tutoring lessons. Followed by some practice sheets for homework to be worked on in between sessions. What sets me apart is that I cater my lessons based on each individual students learning capabilities. I focus on what they are good at and use that to help them solidify their current knowledge and turn their weaknesses into strengths. I primarily tutor college students but I am open to teaching high school level as well. The sooner you understand things the better.

I just met Liyah this past semester. Her mom is a friend of my mom so that’s how I got connected to her. She works in Auburn, and I go to Auburn University. I was having trouble in my Organic Chemistry 2 class and needed help. She knew what she was doing and really helped me understand the concepts. She made me feel very comfortable and did not make me feel dumb for not understanding a concept. I am very thankful for her and how much she helped me. Liyah is a very good tutor and easy to connect with.
