About Sofia
Hi!
I am Sofia!
I am a PhD candidate in Classics at University College London.
I have dedicated my life to studying Classics and Ancient Languages.
I have a passion for ancient mythology and literature and love to talk about it.
I am Italian but have been living in the UK for the past 7 years and got all of my degrees from UK universities.
I have discovered the magic of teaching when I was still in High School and started tutoring first year students at my school in Latin and Ancient Greek. Teaching has never left me, since then I have privately tutored students of all ages in Italian, English, Latin, Ancient Greek and in Ancient Literature. I am currently teaching a Latin High School course and am a Teaching Assistant in Latin and Ancient Greek in my University Department.
I truly love sharing my knowledge of Antiquity with my students and believe that everybody can learn my subjects with patience and the right approach.

My lessons are aimed at making the student feel confid the when they approach the subject. I like to take into consideration the student's needs and cater my lessons around their learning pace. I approach my subjects from a variety of angles and like to make them relevant to the student's passions so that they bring the subject with them even outside our lessons.
Ancient Languages and Culture are applicable on a variety of subjects and I like to present my students with a wide range of practice exercises to make the lessons enjoyable while also keeping a steady learning pace.
