About Tom
I'm a PhD in Political Philosophy who has studied at a high level since returning to university as a mature student in 2016. One thing I have loved throughout those years is helping other students (and indeed my students when I teach classes) to get more out of their studies - better grades, greater understanding, more fun out of learning. Whether you're just about to start uni or you're in the midst of your own PhD, I have the experience and passion to help you improve. And if you're reading this, that already tells me you've got the mindset to achieve that sets you apart from many other students.

Hi, I'm Tom and I want to help you to be the best student that you can be!
I'm an award-winning student who has got top grades in subjects as diverse as Archaeology, Literature, and Philosophy; and I'm a PhD in Political Philosophy having passed the dreaded viva with no corrections.
I'm happy to help you learn to write better essays, to do better research, and get more out of your (no doubt expensive) studies at university. I tailor my approach to the individual. We work together as a pair to find what works best for you from the first lesson, and make a plan from there. If you want hands-on guidance and feedback, or if you want to understand the key principles of doing well at university (or how an examiner reads your work!), or you're about to start a politics course and want a head start, I'm here to assist you.
So please get in touch and we can arrange a free 20/30 minute chat to figure out if we're a good fit and where to go from there.
