About Aidan
I am an educator first and foremost. Teaching and the transmission of new and exciting knowledge to students is my passion. I've honed my skills over the years at various institutions. I am currently a PhD student in the history and theory of architecture at the University of Toronto, Canada. I hold a Master of Science in Architecture Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) & an Honours Bachelor of Arts (double major in Art/Architectural History and Renaissance Studies), and an International Baccalaureate Diploma. I’ve taught many classes and tutored at various levels, including MIT’s Department of Architecture & the School of Architecture + Planning, various universities in Canada, many in high school IB and AP programmes, and a variety of students at all these levels who come from backgrounds without English as their first language. I am also a member of, and have taken classes from, and earned certifications in, various higher education institutions dedicated to pedagogical innovations that foster student success at all learning levels. I have taught at MIT and U of T, tutored students in middle and high school, and mentored students through their undergraduate and graduate school applications in Canada and the USA.

I approach my tutoring and teaching through a unique pedagogical approach, tailoring my lessons to the individual students' needs. I focus on the student's strengths, honing their innate skills to build confidence in a given subject that we can (together) translate over to build up any shortcomings in their work. Any assignment due for school, university applications, essays and projects can seem overwhelming when the student needs help. I work by breaking down the overarching task into smaller parts with careful attention to the students' success here and generating tools they can carry with them in further schooling and beyond. I specialize in working with students and adults at the middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate studies levels.

Details
First meeting (online or in-person) is free at 30 mins, during which time I will assess your needs and how I can best assist in your coursework (postgraduate, undergraduate, high school -- International Baccalaureate and AP courses, as well --, middle, and elementary school. Thereafter, my fees differ from online tutoring/teaching vs. in-person, and I offer discounted prepaid packages. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions at absolutely no charge. I am an experienced teacher and professor at the university and high school levels from the University of Toronto to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and am very well equipped and happy to create specialized/tailored lesson plans to a students' particular interests, whether guided by school assignments, or simply out of pure individual interest!
