About Angela

I am an experienced tutor, with over 200 hours of tutoring in chemistry, math, and physics. I am an advanced master certified in CRLA. I am currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Vanderbilt University and just graduated with a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University. I love helping students learn and have a track record of success. My main goal is not only to help you with the topic but also to help you grow your confidence until you feel that you can approach any problem successfully!

About the lesson

I normally take at least 5 minutes at the beginning to plan what we want to accomplish in that lesson, and then begin tutoring. I am a dynamic tutor who is used to explaining the same skill in many different ways until the topic makes sense to you. Once the student is more comfortable, I normally do an example problem, do a problem together with the student, and then have the student do 2 or 3 questions independently (this of course can vary depending on the difficulty of the topic/ per request of the student). Note!!! As I more frequently teach high school level math and science, for college level courses I need to know (broadly) the topic that the lesson will be focused on so I can make sure I am prepared

Perfect! She is super understanding and flexible. From the moment we met I felt super comfortable and okay talking about my struggles. She is always willing to help create practice problems or send extra information to help. If you do not understand the way she explained something she will find a million different ways to help you understand without making you feel stupid or getting frustrated. And she is always willing to go back to something at an another time. I have worked with her for 2 class semesters but have done summer tutoring with her as well to help prepare for upcoming classes. 10/10 would recommend!!!
