About Ali
Hi! I’m Ali, and my journey with physics began as a childhood fascination that has since evolved into a career as a PhD researcher in theoretical cosmology at Simon Fraser University. For me, physics is more than just a profession; it is a lifelong passion that I have pursued with full intensity.
A Solid Foundation of Expertise
I believe that a great tutor must first have a deep, unshakable mastery of their subject. My academic background reflects this commitment to excellence:
I currently maintain a 4.06 GPA in my PhD program at SFU.
I earned my B.Sc. in Physics from Shiraz University with a 3.9/4.0 GPA.
I was honored to achieve 12th place in the national Physics Olympiad.
My research and academic contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Dean’s Graduate Fellowship and the Sidney Hogg Memorial Graduate Scholarship.
Beyond the Equations
Legitimacy comes from both knowledge and the ability to share it. Beyond my own studies, I am a published researcher who has presented complex theories at international conferences. I have spent years as a Teaching Assistant for a diverse range of university-level courses, helping students navigate everything from introductory mechanics to advanced physics.
+2
My experience isn't limited to the classroom; I have a deep-rooted interest in scientific communication. Whether volunteering for physics open houses or writing for science magazines, I have always been dedicated to making abstract concepts accessible and exciting.
I am here to help you see the world through the lens of a physicist—not just to help you pass an exam, but to help you appreciate the incredible technologies and universal laws that shape our lives. I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals with confidence.

Expert Math & Physics Tutoring: PhD Researcher with 7+ Years Experience
Hi, I’m Ali. I am a PhD student and researcher in theoretical cosmology with over seven years of experience bridging the gap between complex equations and student understanding. I believe that mathematics and physics are not just subjects to pass, but languages to master.
My Teaching Methodology
I utilize Scaffolded Learning and the Feynman Technique. My approach is built on three pillars:
Empathy-First Communication: I analyze the topic from your perspective to anticipate common pitfalls before they occur.
Concept Deconstruction: I break down intimidating theories into small, relatable, and digestible steps.
Active Problem Solving: We move away from passive listening. I guide you through the "why" behind every formula so you can tackle unfamiliar problems with confidence.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session is backed by hours of my own personal preparation to ensure total "mental presence."
Diagnostic Review: A quick check of prior concepts to ensure a solid foundation.
Guided Discovery: We walk through new material step-by-step, ensuring you follow the logical flow.
Original Practice: We work through custom, instructive problems I design specifically for your needs—no generic textbook drills.
The "Big Picture" Context: We conclude by connecting the lesson to real-world applications or cutting-edge research to keep motivation high.
What Sets Me Apart
As a theoretical physicist, I bring the "frontiers of science" into our sessions. I don’t just teach you how to pass an exam; I prepare you for an academic career. My background in scientific communication—writing for magazines and giving public talks—allows me to translate abstract concepts into vivid, real-life examples that bring the subject to life.
Who the Lessons Are For
I provide specialized support for:
High School: Pre-Calculus 11 & 12, Calculus 12, Physics 11 & 12.
University Level: All undergraduate Physics courses (Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Mechanics, etc.) and advanced Mathematics.
Review
All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience had by the students of Ali.
Perfect! I really glad that I found Ali to help me learn probability, statistical physics and quantum mechanics! He is very generous and accommodating, asking me about my learning goals and then working with me to design a curriculum. He is super knowledgable and has truly followed his passion, which is very inspiring! I would highly recommend Ali to anyone who is serious about learning physics, statistics and mathematics!
