Melissa Burrows at Pitzer College is someone who truly inspires trust and confidence in students. Working in the Division of Student Affairs, she manages a role that involves a lot of logistics and behind-the-scenes coordination, yet she never lets that take away from how present and supportive she is with students.

Personally, Melissa has played an important role in my own student success. She has been someone I could turn to for guidance, support, and reassurance, especially during moments when things felt overwhelming. She listens with genuine care and always makes an effort to help students find solutions and move forward with confidence.

What makes Melissa stand out is her ability to balance her many responsibilities while still showing up for students in meaningful ways. She creates a space where students feel seen, heard, and valued. Her kindness, consistency, and willingness to go the extra mile make a lasting impact.
