About Shane
I have over 10 years of experience with academic writing, teaching, tutoring, and mentoring.
I double-majored in philosophy and sociology, and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I also have a master's degree in philosophy. Currently, I'm a PhD candidate working on a dissertation about philosophical methodology.

I teach college essay writing skills at every step of the process-- brainstorming and outlining, researching and drafting, revising and editing. In philosophical writing, I focus on argumentation, rhetorical skills, and conceptual analysis.
I will tailor our lessons to your individual needs. We can work together synchronously or asynchronously. We can work on particular assignments, develop your general reading and writing skills, or both.
I have experience working with English language learners, first gen students, and neurodivergent students.
I have worked with students on a range of philosophical topics including ethics and moral philosophy, social and political theory, philosophy of law, feminist and critical theory, epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, philosophical methodology, logic, practical reasoning, ancient philosophy, and early modern philosophy.
