About Toby
Although I am a dedicated student, I also find time for many of my hobbies. I am an avid astrophotographer, capturing the beauty of the night sky; an avid artist, working in many media; playing rugby, from being captain of my school team to playing at university level; and I love to start hands-on projects, involving metalwork, woodwork, and often welding.
As a Physics student at Exeter University, I understand what it is like to want to achieve as high as you possibly can. Throughout my years as a student, I have seen firsthand students struggling to grasp concepts, not because they are unable to understand, but because they don't understand the method being used. To every problem, there are many solutions, it is just about finding the one that works for you. Being able to help with this is an amazing feeling.

About the lesson

I will teach 1-on-1 sessions with students, choosing methods that work best for them, which will be determined early on in the first session after a few simple questions. The length of the lessons would vary between 1 and 2 hours, depending on time restrictions and time required; other time lengths can be negotiated. I have been tutoring peers and other students at GCSE and A level, helping them achieve better grades and understanding in the subject. I am a highly achieving student with 9's in 7 subjects at GCSE level and A's and a B at A-level. These lessons would be suited for students who need help understanding a challenging subject, who need revision on certain subjects, and students who want to excel further either beyond the specification or to get prepared for A-levels.
