About Tessa

My love for the piano has shaped my life, and teaching it has become one of my greatest passions. Over nine years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students of all ages and levels, helping them grow both technically and artistically. I believe that music education should be both structured and inspiring, and I strive to create lessons that reflect this balance. Watching students develop skill, confidence, and emotional connection to the music they play is incredibly rewarding. I teach with patience, clear guidance, and a deep understanding of musical technique. Each student learns differently, so I adapt my methods to suit their pace and goals. Whether helping a beginner read their first notes or guiding an advanced student through a challenging performance piece, I focus on making each lesson meaningful and enjoyable. My teaching emphasises thoughtful practice, expressive playing, and building a long-lasting relationship with music. Outside of teaching, I continue to study piano, explore new repertoire, and participate in musical workshops to continually refine my craft. Music remains an essential part of my daily life, and sharing that passion with learners keeps me inspired. Helping students discover their musical voice, express themselves confidently, and enjoy the beauty of piano playing is a privilege that motivates every one of my lessons.

About the lesson

My piano lessons are built on a balance of technique, musical understanding, and artistic expression. Each session blends exercises, theory, and repertoire in a way that feels structured yet inspiring. I help students develop discipline and confidence while building the foundational skills needed to play music with clarity and emotion. Lessons emphasise hand coordination, ear training, rhythm, and expressive playing to ensure students become well-rounded musicians. Beginners learn finger placement, note reading, rhythm basics, and simple melodies that gradually develop into more structured pieces. Intermediate students work on scales, pedalling, articulation, dynamics, and expressive interpretation. Advanced learners focus on complex repertoire, stylistic nuance, performance preparation, and music theory. Each lesson is customised to suit the student’s goals, whether they plan to take exams, perform, or play for personal enjoyment. Piano lessons help students grow into thoughtful and expressive musicians. Many of my learners have participated in recitals, auditions, competitions, and school performances. Lessons also build valuable life skills such as focus, patience, discipline, and creative confidence. My goal is to help students connect deeply with music, understand the instrument’s expressive potential, and enjoy the lifelong journey of learning the piano.
