Piano Performance Major at Angelo State University Offering Personalized Piano Lessons for All Levels

Michaela has been part of our lives for over 11 years. During that time I have witnessed her musical abilities and her capabilities in providing personal instruction for music theory and classical piano. She has also participated in tutorials and university instruction in piano and percussion. I have witnessed her endeavors to practice often and secure quality instruction books fir her students. She's a professional!

Michaela and I met at Angelo State as we are both music majors. She really goes above and beyond in her teaching, meeting the student(s) where they are, allowing them to decide the trajectory of their instruction in piano, and helping the student(s) apply their skills in both piano and theory. She also uses the Socratic Method quite extensively, where she answers a question with another question to not just give the student(s) information or reasoning, but help them learn the content better, retain it, and understand the “why” of whatever she is instructing the student(s) to do. One of my favorite experiences with her has to be one of the times she and I were listening to classical music, trying to puzzle the piece together and analyze it. It was so cool spitting out chords and melodic movement and inferring about what the composer was trying to do. It is experiences like these that make Michaela’s teaching worth every moment.
