About Amelia
Hi there! My name is Amelia - though most of my friends call me Smithy! I am new to tutoring, however I have wide experience of helping peers and younger students with their work. I am a hard-working student, attaining all A/A* in my GCSEs, and predicted 3 A* for A Levels. I regularly win awards at school for my high grades and outstanding essays, such as my 60/60 English coursework, and I was lucky enough to receive 4 interviews at Oxford University for English Literature and Language. Learning is something I feel really passionate about - I would love to forge the same feeling in a tutee. I am understanding, and am happy to accommodate any special learning needs - this is absolutely a no judgement space. As a neurodiverse student myself, I completely understand how difficult things may feel - I am here to help any student through this, using my worked experience. I aim to convey my expertise and passion, prioritise the understanding and enjoyment of students, as well as establish a friendly connection with my tutees. In my free time, I enjoy Pilates, reading, cooking, and going to concerts (yes, I am a massive swifte) I am always up to chat about any requirements or requests for a session!

I am 18 years old in U6th, and looking to tutor lessons via Zoom/Teams - happy to tutor any levels up to GCSE English Lit/Lang, as well as A level texts (limited to Othello, Streetcar, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Mrs Dalloway, Poems of the Decade, Romantics, and Picture of Dorian Gray). I regularly help students at my school with their coursework, as well as having experience of guiding young primary pupils with their literacy and phonics. I have a passion for a wide range of literature, and would love to tutor those struggling with the subject. I am confident on many texts (i.e. Shakespeare, Prose, Poetry, Drama, non-fiction texts) - if you have anything specific you would like to work through, please don't hesitate to send me a message! I communicate clearly, and confidently, and aim to create a safe and easy-going environment within my sessions. I would be happy to discuss what students would like to get out of a lesson, and how they would like it structured teaching-style wise :)
