About Julie
I am a writer and mentor who has been teaching English at the university level since 2004. I specialize in academic writing, rhetoric, journalism, and technical writing. I've taught over 1,000 students at the college or university level, and tutored many high school students as well.

My teaching aim is encouraging critical thinking and engagement in students--especially relating students' areas of interest to writing projects. My lesson structures usually consist of explaining a concept, allowing students to practice the concept in the friendly and encouraging environment of our class, and then assigning essays or further practice, on which students also receive feedback.
