About Sisely
I’m an 18-year-old A-Level school leaver with strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and a solid academic background in English Literature. I have recently taken my A-Level exams in English Literature, Law, and Sociology, and I have experience working in customer-facing roles where I’ve developed patience, reliability, and the ability to explain things clearly and calmly.
I bring a structured and supportive approach to tutoring, focusing on helping students build confidence with essay writing, close analysis, and exam technique. My lessons are designed to be clear, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s needs, whether they need help understanding texts, improving written responses, or preparing for assessments.

I am a beginner tutor who is confident in the subject and focused on building experience. A sensible first-step approach is to start with the student’s current texts, use close reading and exam-style questions, and adapt each lesson around their school/college syllabus and weak areas.
My lessons would be structured but flexible. I’d usually begin with a quick check of what the student is studying, then move into guided analysis, discussion of themes and methods, and finally exam practice or a short written task. For English Lit, it helps to use leading questions, close reading, and repeated practice with essays rather than just explaining the text at them.
I’d normally offer 60-minute lessons, since that is a common length and gives enough time to cover a concept properly without losing focus. For students who need shorter, lighter sessions, 30–45 minutes can work, while revision-focused students may benefit from longer lessons.
I don’t have previous tutoring experience yet, but I do have strong subject knowledge and I’m actively building my tutoring approach. I am a new tutor who is organised, patient, and committed to helping students improve their essay writing, textual analysis, and exam confidence.
I’d mainly be aiming at GCSE and A-Level students, especially those who need help with set texts, unseen analysis, context, or essay structure. The best fit would be students who want clearer explanations, more confidence, and practical exam preparation.
